Naval Air Station Pensacola, or NAS Pensacola, has been called "The Cradle of Naval Aviation," as it is the primary training base for all Navy and Marine aviators and Naval Flight Officers as well as the home to the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the precision-flying team known as the Blue Angels.

This bustling Naval base sits on a truly scenic site with a background dating to Spanish explorer Don Tristan de Luna who founded a colony where NAS Pensacola's Fort Barrancas is now located. Today, NAS Pensacola is home to over 16,000 military personnel and 7,400 civilian employees.

The Military School Liaison Officer Program - A Super Resource for Military Families

Each of our local military bases has a military school liaison officer. The school liaison officers are tasked with helping children in military families within a 50-mile radius of the base make a smooth transition to their new school. The program has only been around for a couple of years, but there are military liaison officers available at all our local bases. Some of the issues the liaison officers can assist with include school choice, transfer of records, graduation requirements, immunization requirements and special education programs.
